Today is February 14, 2017 -
Federation’s professional societies were founded to support and strengthen Jewish life throughout Northeastern New York by encouraging the involvement, leadership and philanthropy of its members.
Federation is at the forefront of issues facing our local community and Jewish communities worldwide. Federation, through its network of service providers, works 24/7 to touch the lives of those most in need.
In Northeastern New York, Federation distributes funds for 47 local social service, educational, and agency programs.
When Jewish communities worldwide are threatened – by war, catastrophic economic collapse, virulent anti-Semitism, or natural disasters – Federation/JDC is their lifeline for aid and recovery.
In the former Soviet Union, Federation/JDC provides food packages, hot meals, medicine, homecare, and winter relief to more than 250,000 impoverished Jewish elderly.
Federation and its partner The Jewish Agency For Israel (JAFI) fund special targeted programs in Israel to assist her most vulnerable citizens – i.e., elderly, children and youth at risk, the disabled, and Ethiopian and other struggling immigrant communities.
Around the clock and around the globe, Federation is building an inspiring and caring local Jewish community.
