The Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation supports the goals of the Senior Community through charitable giving campaigns and programs. For over 60 years it has enhanced the quality of life for Nursing Center residents in a Jewish environment through the support of programs and services, and purchase of equipment and services which cannot be met solely by the Nursing Center’s Medicaid and Medicare-dependent operating budget. These purchases include prayer books, prayer shawls and yarmulkes, Jewish entertainment, and the services of a cantor for High Holy Days and Passover Seders and services; and a system to monitor residents’ whereabouts; special recliners and large-screen televisions for resident lounges, audio and videotapes of movies and concerts, dining tables that accommodate wheelchairs, therapeutic mattresses, sit-to-stand lifts, and more.
