Eshkol: Our Partnership 2Gether Region in Israel

Introducing Maor Rosenberg, Our New Community Shaliach

Maor HeadshotMaor Rosenberg arrived recently from Israel as the new Shaliach (emissary) to Northeastern New York. Maor serves both the Jewish Federation of NENY, and Hashomer Hatzair youth movement.

Maor was born in Israel as an 8th generation of Chalutzim. He served as a soldier and commander in the Special Forces in the IDF, and worked as an educator and coordinator in youth movement. Last year, Maor served as an Israeli Shaliach in Los Angeles.

Maor states, “As a Shaliach of the Jewish Agency for Israel Capital District area, I have two missions. First of all, I want to empower the Jewish community of Albany area, as a community that feels related to its heritage and roots. Second, I’m here to bring Israel to you – the tastes, smells and the special Israeli warmth, which there is nothing like it.”

“This whole package called “Shlichut” is my educational offer to any institute, Jewish center, and anyone who wants to have his own Jewish life connected to Israel.”

“Besides my local community, I will help connect us to our Partnership Region in Israel – Eshkol.
Eshkol’s summer was not as any of us could imagine. On these days, Eshkol’s amazing community opened its schools with a great power and commitment to the people to offer a year like each of us would like to have.”

Maor is offering his email – – in his effort to build connections and to join your conversations about Israel.
