Today is January 28, 2020 -
Every week, we list important community announcements and upcoming events at the bottom of FedMail. Some of the postings are for Federation, like our upcoming Society Event, Women’s community-wide event, pre-Israel election event, available scholarships, or Endowment opportunities.
Some of our postings help promote the important work of our affiliate organizations. This week, for example, we feature ADL’s campaign to write letters to European leaders to help stop anti-Semitism. We encourage everyone to follow the link and sign this important letter.
We are also delighted to help promote the plethora of Jewish-related events planned for our community by our partner agencies and synagogues. I love scrolling through the list to see how much is going on in our local community. Please contact Stacey if you would like to see your agency or synagogue’s event posted.
In addition to this e-mail, we also host a community calendar on our website. We encourage all local Jewish organizations to use this calendar when planning their own activities and then post their activities to the calendar for others to see. Our goals are to avoid having competing events at the same time and to promote partnership and collaboration. We noticed, for example, that Hebrew Academy, Temple Israel, Congregation Ohav Shalom, and Federation were all hosting PJ Library programs. We productively combined efforts for a very successful joint weekly program.
Please note that we do not police the calendar for conflicts, nor do we dictate when others should hold their events. Our role is one of community convener. We offer a useful tool for the benefit of the community and strongly encourage everyone to use it.
