Tzofim Friendship Caravan

Thursday, KB received a call from Re’ut, an advisor of the Tzofim Friendship Caravan. The Tzofim (Scouts) are Israeli teens who travel around North America representing Israel and performing Israeli music. Apparently, they did not realize how far it was between Syracuse and Boston and were interested in some local hospitality to break up their trip.

Re’ut has two friends in our area who both advised her to contact KB, whom they knew through our Next Dor (Young Adult) program. Coincidentally had Re’ut gone to our website, she would have seen our link to KB, who now also serves as our new community concierge.

Re’ut offered a free concert for 12 beds and some food. Looking for a venue for the concert, KB went to our community calendar and found a “Sunday Funday” at Camp Givah starting Sunday morning. Perfect! A few phone calls later, we found home hospitality for everyone. Thank you to everyone hosting.

Over the course of an hour, we found a place for 12 Israelis traveling through town, found a way to bring Israeli culture to our community, and added a boost to a program of one of our community partners. This is a Jewish Federation mission trifecta!

Please see our ad below for details. I hope to see many of you there.
