Responses to the Iranian Nuclear Agreement

Have you called Senator Schumer yet?

Apparently, our very own Chuck Schumer is the guy who will be determining the outcome of the Iranian Nuclear Agreement, and as his constituents, we have the ability to influence his position.  I am, of course, exaggerating, but according to the pundits, only slightly.

National Jewish organizations, lobbying organizations, Israeli government officials, and the media have been working overtime this week, and likely will be working overtime for the next eight weeks, as we get closer to the end of the 60-day period during which Congress can approve or disapprove the deal.  If members of Congress want to disapprove, they will need to do so with enough votes to buffer a presidential veto.

For your convenience, we have prepared and posted on our website a summary document containing:

  • An analysis by HonestReporting.com with links to the agreement itself, and all of the major news outlets for analysis.
  • An alphabetical listing of the responses from 20 national Jewish organizations.
  • Position statements by Israeli leaders.

No patience to read it all?  Let me summarize: The left loves the deal, and the right hates it.  In between?  “Thank you, Mr. President for your hard work – Congress, please read carefully.”

As I shared with you two weeks ago, I have opinions.  I have called all of my elected officials and shared my opinions with them.  I encourage you to do the same.
