Bob Woodward to Launch 16th Annual Headliner Series Event

Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York will launch the 16th Annual Headliner Series with a special event featuring Bob Woodward, one of America’s preeminent investigative reporters and non-fiction authors. The event will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017, 6:30 PM, at Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady.  Woodward will present on, “Inside Washington: How Much Do We Know?”

Associate editor for The Washington Post, Woodward is greatly responsible for two Pulitzer Prizes won by The Washington Post, and was a lead reporter on Watergate and a main reporter for the Post’s coverage of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Woodward has authored or co-authored 18 non-fiction national best-sellers and has been a recipient of nearly every major American journalism award.

Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard called Woodward, “the best pure reporter of his generation, perhaps ever.” Albert Hunt of The Wall Street Journal called Woodward, “the most celebrated journalist of our age.” According to Bob Schieffer of CBS News, “Woodward has established himself as the best reporter of our time. He may be the best reporter of all time.”

Woodward’s book The Last of the President’s Men will be for sale, and he will be signing purchased copies.

Future Headliner Series speakers include Alan M. Dershowitz, “The nation’s most peripatetic civil-liberties lawyer and one of its most distinguished defenders of individual rights.” – Newsweek; Ambassador

Ambassador Dennis Ross, serving three Presidents, he has played a leading role in shaping U.S. involvement in the Middle East; and Abraham Foxman, world-renowned as a leader in the fight against anti-Semitism, bigotry and discrimination, and Anti-Defamation League’s National Director Emeritus.

The Headliner Series is open to those who contribute $5,000 or more, by household, to the Federation/Israel Campaign or to those who have made a commitment of a minimum $100,000 to the Jewish Community Endowment Fund. 

Cost for this event is $36 per person.  Event attendees will receive a photograph taken with Woodward by household.  Children, ages 13-39, of Headliner Series members are also welcome to attend.  An elegant dinner and dessert reception will be catered by As You Like It Caterers.
