Today is April 23, 2019 -
A very big thank you to my sister-in-law and her family for hosting a few of my family members and friends in her home in Israel last Shabbat.
One family friend (daughter of a Federation board member) is in Israel for a couple of months with the Alexander Muss High School in Israel program. The program allows students to continue with their own high school curriculums while enjoying an immersive Israel experience.
My niece is in Israel for a gap-year program before starting college next fall. She is in a rigorous program with both secular and religious studies where she is earning college credit and enjoying an immersive Israel experience.
My daughter was (she came home on Tuesday) in Israel for a semester abroad at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Another immersive Israel experience while earning the necessary college credits to keep her on track for graduating this May.
My nephew went to Israel for a winter break Birthright experience and stayed for a couple of extra weeks to spend time with friends and family. No high school or college credit, no heavy lifting, just there for a good time.
Another niece missed the Shabbat festivities, but met up with most of the group in Jerusalem on Saturday night. She is also there to enjoy a post-Birthright trip extension.
Whether Birthright, gap-year, semester abroad, high-school program, or just a private visit, there are many great ways to get to Israel. There are also many different opportunities, depending on your goals.
Do you want academic credit, Jewish learning, history, or just to have a good time?
We help fund Birthright and offer generous need-based scholarships for certain organized trips. We love helping people get to Israel. Let us help you find the right trip for you.
Meanwhile, save mid-late October 2018 for our Federation’s next community trip to Israel. Details to follow in the coming weeks.
