Today is February 23, 2018 -
Super Sunday, January 28, 2018, is an annual community outreach effort sponsored by Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York. Throughout the day, volunteers from every segment of the community are hard at work on the phones—raising funds, addressing local needs, and building support to enrich, strengthen, and further Federation’s mission.
Federation provides essential grants and allocations to support Jewish needs in Israel and throughout the world, as well as our local Jewish organizations and agencies, including supporting our Hebrew Day Schools and afterschool programs. This past summer, more than 60 children (faced with serious financial challenges) were able to attend Jewish summer camps. Throughout the academic school year, hundreds of local inner-city children received one-on-one literacy support through the Capital Region Jewish Coalition for Literacy program. Currently, 900 children throughout the Capital Region receive PJ Library books about our Jewish heritage. These areas of support, and much more (including the elderly and special-needs children), are possible because of our community’s generous philanthropy.
Every gift makes an incredible impact on someone’s life, both in our local community and around the globe. Together, we can change lives for the better!
