Today is February 23, 2018 -
“Thank you for your visits with my mother over the past few months. I know that they meant so much to her.” — A grieving daughter to a Jewish Federation chaplain at her mother’s shiva.
“Thank you so much for making this trip to Israel available to my child.” — A parent of Jewish Federation Teen Mission participant.
“Thank you for the scholarship offered to my daughter for overnight camp this summer. It was the best summer of her life.” — A mom.
“Thank you for my PJ Library subscription.” — A seven-year-old.
“Thank you for supporting all of our young adult programming. We are your future.” — A young adult.
This is the best part of my job–hearing from our beneficiaries for whom we are having an impact on their lives. It’s not about the millions of dollars that we raise or the millions of dollars that we allocate; it’s about the seniors we visit and the children who go to camp. It’s about the child whose only exposure to Judaism is the PJ Library book that shows up in the mailbox each month.
This is what we do together.
This Sunday is our Jewish Federation’s annual community-wide telethon–Super Sunday. When your phone rings, please answer the call.
