We count these losses for the Jewish community among the 17 people killed and 14 injured.
The Jewish Federation of Broward County Florida has been working with Jewish Family Services, community clergy, and other partners to bring calm and comfort to the area. They are receiving guidance from the Jewish communities of Las Vegas and Kansas City who, unfortunately, have experience. They are also working on bringing the Israel Trauma Coalition into Broward County by early next week. They have deployed teams of mental-health professionals. They are coordinating vigils and an interfaith memorial. They are requesting donations of blood. They are opening a fund in conjunction with the Broward Education Foundation, United Way, and Community Foundation to assist families.
May the memories of those killed in this senseless and horrific act be for a blessing.
