May her memory be for a blessing
Romi Cohen of Maor, near Hadera (Israel), was one of ten students killed in a flash flood
during a school trip earlier this week.
Romi was a 2016 particpant in Givat Haviva
‘s program “Through Others’ Eyes
.” The program brings together Israeli Arab and Jewish teenagers. As part of the program, she visited us to bring the message of peaceful co-existence to our community.
Romi said, “If I had a message for other Jewish Israeli kids my age, I would say, ‘don’t judge people before you get to know them and be open to new things…It doesn’t matter who you are and where you came from, it all depends on you.”
May Romi’s memory be for a blessing.
