On September 1st, Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas, inflicting unprecedented damage. The crisis is ongoing, as the Hurricane has stalled over Grand Bahama, causing a storm surge of 18-23 feet above normal water levels and flooding wells with saltwater. Tens of thousands of lives are in danger.
Our overseas partner, JDC is already responding. We are providing emergency medical supplies through our partner, the Afya Foundation, while we activate our network of local and international organizations to understand and address Bahamians’ evolving needs.
