The Inside Scoop on our very own Jewish Federation of NENY: What is it, what does it do, how does it do it?

Here we are at Havurah Vatik, joining virtually but effectively, on Zoom for the 11th time! Perhaps by now we are on the outskirts of winter, vaccinations in our arms or at least in our schedules.

This month we have an inside story.for you. We are joined by Rob Kovach, President and CEO of Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY and by Phyllis Wang, Campaign Chair and Chair Elect of the Federation. They will discuss how Federation tackles and reaches its goals of meeting the breadth of needs for the whole Jewish community. Fundraising, of course, but Federation is really an essential umbrella organization.

Rob Kovach is a life-long resident of the Capital District. He is an avid collector of comic books and a scholar of their Jewish origins. He is a Zionist and a community builder. His most essential credentials: husband of Ilana and co-parent of five children.

Phyllis Wang has been President of Temple Sinai. She is Coordinator of Saratoga Jewish Community Arts and Saratoga Jewish Cultural Festival. She owns and manages her own consulting firm for small businesses. She and husband Barry raised six children and best of all have seven grandchildren.

Havurah Vatik in the time of Covid: Bring your own lunch; pajama bottoms welcomed; coffee or tea suggested. Nothing supplied but valuable information, exchange of ideas, opportunity to "see" friends and acquaintances.
