Jewish War Veterans Capital District Council Memorial Service

The Jewish War Veterans Capital District Council welcomes all Jewish veterans, family members and JWV members from all posts to join us at Congregation Beth Israel, 2195 Eastern Parkway in Schenectady, for a memorial service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 29. Open to the entire community.

The gathered veterans will meet to honor fallen comrades for Memorial Day.

The memorial service begins at 9:30 a.m. All JWV members, family and friends are welcome to attend.

The service will include Jim Strosberg of Beth Israel, reciting a prayer in Hebrew and playing taps.

The ceremony concludes at 10 a.m. when JWV volunteers will place flags at area Jewish cemeteries to honor veterans buried there.

Albany Post 105 of the Jewish War Veterans coordinates the placement of nearly 1,000 flags in area cemeteries.
