The Schenectady Jewish Community Center (SJCC) is excited to announce the debut of a
new art installation, “KYRA TEIS ART,” by artist Kyra Teis will run through November 3 – December 31, , 2025,
in the Farber-Miness Lounge at the Schenectady JCC. A reception to celebrate the artist will be on November
12, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

At the heart of all Kyra’s artwork is a passion for bringing stories to life — whether through the imagery of
children’s books, the personal histories sewn into textiles, or the emotive qualities of abstract art. After more
than 25 years of illustrating children’s books, Kyra is excited to debut her newest application for her creativity,
Abstract Art. Each piece displayed is a digital collage made by layering scans of hand-painted papers to create
rich visual texture and dynamic compositions.
