The Schenectady JCC (SJCC) will continue its 2022 Jewish fall film festival with the viewing of Return to Auschwitz: The Survival of Vladimir Munk, directed by Paul Frederick.

Return to Auschwitz: The Survival of Vladimir Munk (2021) is and American film that follows 95-year-old Vladimir Munk, a Holocaust survivor and retired U.S. professor, who in 2020 returned to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp where his parents and over 30 relatives were murdered in World War II. Following the trip, he returns to the U.S. and faces the global pandemic. This documentary traces his early life in Czechoslovakia, imprisonment in two concentration camps, his career post World War II as a renowned microbiologist in Czechoslovakia and his immigration to the U.S. following the Russian ad Eastern Bloc invasion of 1968.

The 56-minute film will be shown in English and will be available to watch virtually via a Zoom link from Wednesday, Oct. 19 to Sunday, Oct. 23. On Sunday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. film writer Julie Canepa and a guest will host a live
