Temple Israel is honored to be a beneficiary of a bequest left by lifelong Albany resident, Theodore Strauss (z"l).

Theodore Strauss (z”l) was a public school teacher in Albany, NY. He and his wife had no children of their own. When his wife passed away, he lost not only companionship, but also a sense of community. His search for connection led him to our Jewish Community.

He left a generous bequest to Temple Israel of Albany, the Jewish Federation of NENY and Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob.

His intention was to afford us the ability to dedicate efforts, energies, and resources to creating programs and opportunities for the seniors in our community.

His Yahrzeit is Sunday, February 9 (11 Shevat). Please join us in honoring his memory for our first ever multi-generational Seder with our TI Students.
