Stories of Identity, Love, Intermarriage, and Kimchi on the Seder Plate

True Colors shares with audiences unforgettable characters who tell personal stories about how they see themselves and how others see them. True Colors features ten stories by African-American, Asian, Latino, and multi-ethnic Jews. This enlightening show explores the impact of living as Jews of Color when inclusion and equity are not always practiced in the Jewish Community.

“These are poignant and moving stories of questioning, of feeling like the outsider, of committing to Judaism…quintessential and universal Jewish stories!” -  Ronda Spinak, The Braid's artistic director and True Colors curator.

“American Jews forget that the Jewish world is and has always been multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-cultural; we tend to look at our community through a white Ashkenazi lens. True Colors, is a moving reflection on the prism of our peoplehood. Thanks to Zoom, Theatre Ariel can share with our audience this powerful work created and performed by our colleagues at The Braid.”- Deborah Baer Mozes, Artistic Director, Theatre Ariel
