Yom Kippur
During the Yizkor memorial services on Yom Kippur, we will mention the names of our parents, relatives, and friends who are no longer living. Standing before the Torah scrolls on the holiest day of the year, this is a most powerful time to remember our loved ones before G-d, in the sanctity of the synagogue and in the presence of the entire congregation. This important act has a powerful effect on the souls of our loved ones in heaven, which in turn further connects them with us.
