TOV are women from our community who are showing the true meaning of tikkun olam by repairing the world, one project at a time.
What do Tikkun Olam Volunteers (TOV) do?
TOV help with a variety of social-action projects (both Jewish and secular) here in Northeastern New York. Many projects allow you to be a part of the great work of Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York and its partner agencies. TOV was created for women looking to become more involved in the community and actively participate in effecting change.
TOV Children's Book Drive in partnership with The Red Bookshelf
Do you have children's books in need of a new home? TOV is establishing a book drive and seeking gently used books for children of all ages, including young adults. The Red Bookshelf's greatest need is board books for babies and early readers.
Book donations will be accepted for the month of December at:
Jewish Federation of NENY | The Golub Center
184 Washington Avenue Ext., Albany, NY 12203
The month of December
Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Let's shine our light by giving the gift of reading to children this holiday season!
The Red Bookshelf, a non-profit community literacy program in Albany, provides free children’s books on bright red bookshelves throughout Albany to ensure that all children have access to the benefits of book ownership, regardless of income level.

10 MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are seeking volunteers to check-in with our community members. All calls may be made from the comfort of home and at your convenience, and from our experience, this simple task results in rewarding conversations.
The distance between us proves that a phone call is just as meaningful as a visit. Contact Linda Pollack Kessler, (518) 783-7800 ext. 234, today, and let your heart do the traveling!
