One-Time Screening of The Zookeeper’s Wife | Free and Open to the Public

The Zookeeper’s Wife  reveals the story of Righteous Among the Nations recipients Antonina and Jan Zabinski who risked their lives to save others. They fought back on their own terms and covertly began working for the Resistance in Poland after the Nazi invasion.

They realized that their zoo’s abandoned animal cages and underground tunnels, originally designed to safeguard animal life, could now secretly save human life. They turned their zoo into a safe haven for hundreds of Jewish men, women, and children escaping the Warsaw Ghetto. Antonina placed herself and her children at great risk. When aiding a Jew was punishable by death, the Zabinskis saved 300 of them.

Called an emotional reflection on the nature of goodness and courage, The Zookeeper’s Wife is a story of heroism from the most humble of places.
