One of the easiest and least expensive ways to help girls get an education is to make it possible for them to attend school during their menstrual periods. And, as we know, educating girls is the most effective means of economic development in Third World countries. It is more likely for a young girl to forgo her education if she misses school & then has difficulty catching up.
With this in mind, Ellie vonWellsheim created Mooncatchers. These are re-useable, washable menstrual pads that help girls stay in school during their cycle. All the materials are donated, and we will assemble them.
Join us for this important and empowering project to help girls stay in school. Mooncatchers are so simple that anyone can help. No sewing experience is necessary.
This event is fully booked.
