A View from Washington: Is it Good for the Jews?
With the 2020 election one year out and the Iowa caucuses just weeks away, the country feels more polarized than ever before. Issues of division range from immigration to trade to gun violence to climate change, not to mention a wide array of foreign policy challenges. Will Republicans and Democrats ever agree on anything? Will our civility in the political arena return?
Meet Liz Schrayer—one of our nation’s top political strategists, and perhaps the last of the “purple warriors”—who has spent her career forging bipartisan policy solutions. Liz will bring her insights to an important discussion of what today’s divide means to us as Jews and as Americans.
From Capitol Hill, where she launched the Human Rights Caucus, to a decade as national political director at AIPAC, Liz has worked in nearly every state engaging citizen advocates. Today, Liz leads her own consulting firm, Schrayer & Associates, that works to elevate and strengthen citizen voices on a wide range of public policy issues, having helped clients as diverse as Sesame Workshop, Gabby
Giffords, and Coca Cola. In addition, she created one of the premier foreign policy advocacy groups, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, whose advisory board includes every living former secretary of state. A proud Lion of Judah, Liz comes from a family steeped in philanthropy and tikkun olam, values that she and her husband have passed along to their two grown sons.
Liz Schrayer brings dynamism and insight to a global audience that may be unmatched. Liz captivated the audience with both facts and perspective on the intersection of defense, diplomacy, and evelopment. And she highlighted the ever-so-important political dimension in both a sensitive and informative manner. – Deloitte Consulting
