Congregation Beth Emeth
100 Academy Road
Join us for a fun game night. Choose to play Bingo Bridge, Canasta, Mah Jongg, Pinochle or Rummikub. Novice players of Mah Jongg will receive instruction. You can bring your foursome, or we’ll include you in a group. Please indicate your game of interest and level of experience when you register.
Not a player? That’s OK! We invite everyone to attend and listen to a presentation by author Gregg Swain on “The Jewish Tradition of Mah Jongg.” Playing a game is optional.
Through research and anecdotal references, Swain traces the history of the game. She’ll include how Mah Jongg has helped people during very trying times, and the role it has played in many aspects of Jewish social life. Swain is the co-author of Mah Jongg: The Art of the Game.
Swain will be signing books at the event. Books will be sold for a discount price of $20.
Wine and Snacks will be served
$25 per person, prepaid
$18 per child (12-21)
