Don’t take our word for it... take Lions that have attended in the past:

Attending the Int’l. LOJ Conference in an opportunity for Jewish women to celebrate together. The sense of community and shared purpose is remarkable & I left feeling motivated and empowered to contribute to meaningful change in my own community. It truly is a celebration of the strength and generosity of Jewish women, highlighting the powerful role we play in our Jewish communities. Going to the conference is a wonderful way to bond with fellow Lion of Judah’s from our community that I previously didn’t know.
Lauren Finkle, Lion of Judah, Jewish Federation of NENY

The Int’l. LOJ Conference offers something for everyone - there are speakers you would never have access to and topics addressed that are important and relevant for every part of our Jewish community - whether it’s about engaging future leaders, antisemitism or interfaith families. And there is nothing like being in a room with that many women who you cry and laugh with for three days. It is not just another conference - it is one of a kind. I return home every time with a nourished soul and tools to use moving forward.
Iris Kraemer – Chair, National Women’s Philanthropy

The International Lion of Judah (ILOJ) Conference is totally unique as the women attending are committed to helping the Jewish people through philanthropy. Everyone is very friendly, and the speakers are amazing!!
Karen Hausler, Lion of Judah, Jewish Federation of NENY

My Int’l. LOJ experience validated my role as a passionate, powerful, and purposeful Jewish female philanthropist.  I give to UJFNENY to make a difference in the lives of others, Jewish and non-Jewish who are in need. I am a Jew and a Zionist and feel my heart and my welfare is tied to Israel. The ILOJ surrounded me with likeminded women who make philanthropy an action.  I came home with a broader sense of how we as Lion's can have an impact, with ideas for programming to motivate generosity and younger donors.

I am a proud Lion of Judah. My hope and vision for Jewish community embodies the Talmudic passage Kol Yisrael arevim zeh ba-zeh (Every Jew is responsible for each other). The Lion of Judah is not merely a symbol of Jewish community; it is a sacred emblem of our identity, heritage, and faith. It reminds me of our past, guides me in the present, and empowers me to not only hope, but work for the future. As a Lion of Judah, I stand strong in my convictions to defend our heritage and values, and to work tirelessly for the betterment of humanity. I stand for unity and solidarity among Jews worldwide, regardless of our differences. Like the Lion that is our symbol, our women embody strength and the enduring spirit of the Jewish people. The women Lions I have come to know, and love remind me of our resilience as a people in the face of adversity and our ability to overcome even the most formidable challenges together. Our Jewish community is only as strong as the people dedicated to its care. As an active Lion of Judah and through our United Jewish Federation I do my part as a community member. I can add my strength and commitment, to the 18,000 Lion of Judah women dedicated to the present and future of Jewish community and make an impact locally and internationally. The Lions of UJFNENY have set the example for me of leadership and giving. Phyllis Wang, a Lion of Judah and Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland award recipient herself, is a woman I admire as a mentor and a dear friend. She has truly set an example of the Lion of Judah I aspire to be and has supported me in my leadership journey and connection with Federation. We live in a time of intense individualism that has led many to forget that we are part of a larger community. However, the weight of Jewish tradition points us to see ourselves as part of a larger whole, even more evident since October 7th.

The Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award (KWF) is given every two years by our parent organization, Jewish Federations of North America, to a Lion of Judah who exemplifies the highest standards in philanthropy and volunteerism.
