Chava Shervington is an attorney, advocate, and mother. A recognized voice on issues of racial equity and inclusion in the Jewish community, she has served as a board member of the Jewish Multiracial Network (JMN) for a decade, and is a regular speaker, consultant, and writer on issues of diversity in Judaism. She has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, JTA, TVOne, and the Layers Project, among others. Chava has long recognized a need for Jews of color to have spaces where they can feel fully supported and mechanisms to educate the larger community on the need for greater representation and recognition of racially and ethnically diverse Jews. Her passion and dedication to the advancement of Jews of color has been honored by her selection as one of the 2015 awardees of Jewish Week's "36 under 36”, her selection as a fellow in the Selah Leadership Program, and she was recently honored by the City of Los Angeles as a Jewish woman creating change in Los Angeles. She has a juris doctorate from The George Washington University Law School.
