Join us for coffee and a bagel as we learn with Rabbi Sam Shor, Jewish Federation’s Scholar-in-Residence in Jerusalem for all trips since 2014.

Rabbi Shor, an Albany native, is the Director of Torah Initiatives for OU Israel, overseeing a wide range of educational programs, including Torah classes, tours, and experiential programming for the Anglo community in Israel. For the past three decades, he has become known for his inspirational teaching, adult education work, and mentoring young rabbis worldwide. Rabbi Shor’s weekly column, Simchat Shmuel, appears in OU Israel’s popular Torah Tidbits, which reaches over 30,000 readers weekly.

A former Albany NCSY Chapter and Regional President, and past Director of Judaic Life at the Sidney Albert Albany JCC, Rabbi Shor has maintained a strong connection with the Capital District Jewish community, even after making aliyah to Israel in 2009. Now living in Yerushalayim with his family, he continues to serve as a beloved Torah teacher for the English-speaking community.
