The Importance of the Jewish Voice in the Public Square: How Federation Lay Leaders help ensure our Communities Flourish
with Elana Broitman, Jewish Federations of North America’s Senior Vice President for Public Affairs
For more than 100 years, the Jewish Federation system has protected the Jewish community and built support for local and global communal priorities. For the North American Jewish Diaspora to continue to be one of the safest, most prosperous, caring, and inclusive Jewish diasporas in history, we must impact the increasingly complex
public square in which we live.
Our challenges are myriad:
- Antisemitism is on the rise, and even our children encounter it online and in school.
- We live in a polarized political environment, putting services to our most vulnerable at risk.
- Greater division in our culture has put a strain on our relationships with other communal groups.
For us to meet these challenges to be safe and continue to grow, we must call upon the unique partnership of deeply invested lay leaders, knowledgeable professionals, and caring members of the community. Their work and yours, ensures that we pass the laws, create the partnerships with other groups, and advance our ability to combat antisemitism no matter where it happens.
Please join Elana Broitman, Senior Vice President for Public Affairs at Jewish Federations of North America, for an inside look at how you can make a difference locally and at the national level to foster flourishing Jewish community.
