It Takes Two to Torah: An Orthodox Rabbi and Reform Journalist Discuss and Debate Their Way Through the Five Books of Moses
Join former Reform journalist and 60 Minutes producer Abigail Pogrebin and Rabbi Dov Linzer, president of a renowned Modern Orthodox seminary, for a lively and thought-provoking discussion about their frank and fascinating journey through the Five Books of Moses.
For two years, Pogrebin and Linzer engaged in short, candid, funny, and deep conversations on their podcast for Tablet Magazine. Now, those dialogues have been collected and edited into their book, It Takes Two to Torah—just 4-6 pages per parsha.
Rabbi Linzer is a renowned Torah scholar whose values lean egalitarian while maintaining clear boundaries on what is correct and comfortable within Jewish law. Pogrebin, meanwhile, is a relatable American Jew—deeply engaged
in Jewish life, primarily through study, reporting, synagogue, and community rather than strict observance.
Moderated by Rabbi Ben Kean of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, this discussion will include an open Q&A.
