High Holiday Gift Gift Bags
JFS is distributing gift bags to our older adult neighbors who are isolated, lack nearby family, are alone or live in long-term care facilities. We're filling and delivering High Holiday bags so that they can celebrate as they have their entire lives. We're recruiting volunteers to fill bags (September 6 & 7) and deliver them in the Capital region (week of September 11). Please sign up here or call 518-722-4980 to volunteer.
Supporting the JFS Community Chaplain
JFS Community Chaplain, Rabbi Ami Monson is providing special visits, spiritual guidance and religious services for those living in long-term care throughout the community. Your gift can help fund the JFS Chaplaincy program here.
High Holiday Kosher Home Delivered Meals
JFS delivers meals to older adults who can no longer prepare their own. Weekend holiday meals are above and beyond their county subsidy and this holiday season, they are delivering more than 150 extra meals! Please consider helping fund these meals here.

Shana Tova!
All are welcome to join us at Congregation Agudat Achim for our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services, including our Community Tashlikh at Blatnick Park, the Kever Avot Cemetery Service, Junior Congregation, Shana Tova Tots, and a brand new Family Service on the second day of Rosh Hashanah. No tickets or prior registration is necessary to attend our services for anyone including: CAA members, community members, out-of-town guests, interested newcomers, and everyone else. We do ask that if you're planning to use our childcare that you let us know in advance. Come as you are and celebrate with us! Our diverse community welcomes people of all backgrounds including interfaith families, singles, seniors, couples, single-parent and same sex families, trans and nonbinary folks, members of the queer community, Jews of color, those who are neurodiverse or differently abled, and converts/Jews-by-choice. Within our warm and inviting surroundings, Congregation Agudat Achim encourages meaningful participation and creates a sense of belonging. We hope you will also join us for the Carrot Festival and the Professor Berk Lecture Series, as well as for Sukkot and Simchat Torah. Our first communal meal of the year is our famous Pizza-in-a-Hut lunch in the Sukkah, prepared by As You Like It Catering. Rabbi Spitzer's door is always open for pastoral meetings, and you can schedule at time with him using this easy link: https://calendly.com/rabbispitzer/25-minute-meeting. Our religious school accepts students on a rolling basis throughout the year, and we would be happy to give you a tour of our facilities and programs. Check out our website (https://www.agudatachim.org/) for more information about all of the above. Rabbi Spitzer, President Steve Schmidt, and the entire CAA professional and lay leadership look forward to participating with you in our fall holidays and events.
