Partners for Survivors

Holocaust Survivors living today are in their final decades—and far too many are struggling. One in three Holocaust Survivors in the U.S. lives in poverty, a reality that Jewish Family Services (JFS) staff witness every day.

To address this urgent need, Jewish Federation and JFS have partnered to ensure that every local survivor can live with dignity and support. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment: to raise a minimum of $10,000 annually for survivors. Thanks to KAVOD SHEF, every gift—until the $10,000 goal is reached—will be doubled, amplifying the impact of community generosity.

Funds raised will provide critical emergency assistance for essentials such as dental and vision care, medical needs, food, home care, transportation, utilities, rent support, and home repairs. These services are not luxuries—they are lifelines for those who endured unimaginable loss and trauma.

Many survivors arrived in the U.S. without wealth or retirement plans. They worked in jobs that offered no pensions or 401(k)s. Now, in their final years, too many face heartbreaking choices: heat or food, medicine or rent.

Through this partnership and the matching program, donors can make a profound difference. Every contribution matters, and every contribution is doubled until the goal is met. Together, the community can ensure that Holocaust Survivors live their remaining years with dignity, comfort, and care.

Those who have already contributed to Jewish Federation or JFS this year are encouraged to consider an additional gift. Donations can be made and designated here: Donate Now.

Thank you for helping make a life-changing impact through this vital collaboration.
