As part of a broader effort to better understand how Jewish people in our community connect to Jewish life, our Federation invested in a comprehensive demographic study known as the Pulse Survey. The survey was conducted locally by the Opinion Research Institute as part of a larger national research initiative supported by Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). JFNA partnered with national research firm Burson to assist with survey design and data analysis. JFNA has also been using our community’s data to benchmark our results and compare them with Jewish communities across the country, placing our local experience within a broader national context.
On April 16 and 17, David Manchester, PhD, Senior Director of Community Data & Research Development at JFNA and Director of the Berman Jewish DataBank, will be in town to present key findings from the Pulse Survey, sharing insights about our community today and some of the communal goals our Federation board has prioritized.
Leaders from local synagogues, agencies, and Jewish organizations—including those not directly engaged with the Federation—are especially encouraged to attend, as this study was designed with the entire Jewish community in mind. Community members are invited to attend one of these sessions and take part in a shared conversation about what the data means and how it can help shape what comes next.
