This Shabbat, Shabbat Nachamu—the “Shabbat of Comfort”—falls on Tu B’Av, the joyful Jewish day of love. In the Haftarah, we hear the words “Nachamu, nachamu ami” (“Comfort, comfort My people,” Isaiah 40:1), beginning seven weeks of consolation after Tisha B’Av. These weeks gently guide us from sorrow to renewal, preparing our hearts for the High Holidays ahead. Tu B’Av, with its message of love and unity, adds a uniquely uplifting dimension to this Shabbat. Together, they offer a rare and powerful opportunity for healing and connection.
