Hours and Benefits
- Salary $25 / Hour
- Paid Vacation: One week first year; two weeks years 2-5; three weeks thereafter
- Federal Holidays office closed, unpaid
- Jewish Holidays (approximately 8 per year) office closed half-pay. Full pay if needed on-site.
- Coverage under Workers Comp only.
Required Software
- Familiarity with Bookkeeping software (Quick Books); Payroll software (Paychex); Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc. Knowledge of non-profit office management software is desirable.
Administrative and Interpersonal Skills
- Friendly and welcoming toward Board, members, guests, children and vendors/suppliers.
- Discretion with confidential information.
- Strong administrative skills, including calendar management.
- Maintain detailed and timely record keeping, office organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage frequent interruptions.
Managing Income and Expenses
- Track and deposit receivables in a timely fashion.
- Maintain membership records.
- Manage petty cash funds.
- Pay vendors, suppliers, utilities in a timely fashion.
- Process payroll biweekly.
- Purchase various supplies including food and take bids for large purchases.
Event Logistics
- Work closely with Rabbi and leadership.
- Track RSVPs for events.
- Manage synagogue communications.
