Have you noticed libraries have been making headlines lately?

Have you paid attention to the controversy surrounding certain authors, such as Dr. Seuss, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Roald Dahl, J.K. Rowling, and Joseph Bruchac?

Mindy Holland will share her insights on children's books and school libraries, including book banning, sexuality in children's books, the fate of classics, the Own Voices movement, librarians as targets, and the influence of the left and right on books in our school libraries.

Mindy is the librarian at Okte Elementary in Clifton Park, a past President of Congregation Gates of Heaven, the synagogue librarian and a former adjunct instructor at the School of Library Science at the University at Albany.

This is an open discussion geared toward adults. We encourage you to join us for what promises to be a lively discussion! Nosh included.
