Camperships & Scholarships

Jewish Experiential Funds

Each year, the Jewish Federation offers financial assistance to local community members who might not otherwise be able to participate in meaningful Jewish experiences due to cost—such as summer camp and Israel travel programs.

Please note that many camps also provide substantial financial aid. First-time campers and their families are encouraged to explore additional support through the Foundation for Jewish Camp.

For more information, please contact Rebecca Miller at (518) 783-7800 ext. 225 or rmiller@jewishfedny.org.

One Happy Camper

Thinking about overnight camp for your child? We can help.

Jewish overnight camp is a powerful, joyful experience—and we know it can feel like a big step (and a big expense), especially the first time. The One Happy Camper grant helps make Jewish summer camp more affordable for families.

Grants are available for first-time campers entering grades 1–12 who are enrolled in a Jewish nonprofit overnight camp for 12 days or longer.

Questions or wondering if you’re eligible? Reach out to Ilene Friedman, ifriedman@jewishfedny.org.

No deadline—apply while grants remain!

Attention 12th graders and college students!

The Lilly Reiser Scholarship is awarded annually to Jewish students who exhibit financial need and academic excellence. The scholarship is open to students from Connecticut and New York, and each recipient receives $10,000 per year, renewable for up to four years. The scholarship aims to support students in achieving their academic dreams, just as Lilly was able to achieve hers.

To apply, please visit www.ujf.org/LillyReiser. For more information or questions, please contact Eric@ujf.org.
