On March 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM the Men’s Club and Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Shalom will have guest speaker Vera Nadia Kushnir speak on the Crisis in Ukraine and what we can do to help.

Mrs. Kushnir has been a resident of the Capital District for 56 years. She currently lives in Halfmoon. She is first generation Ukrainian American. She was born to immigrant parents-who were refugees of post World War II Ukraine. She has been a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Watervliet NY for 56 years. She is a member of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Inc. (UNWLA) since 1978. Currently she holds the position of head of the Audit Committee as the National Internal Auditor.

She has visited the Ukraine representing UNWLA on a few occasions. She has met with members of Ukraine’s Parliament, visited Military hospitals delivering financial assistance to the wounded. While there she also visited Pediatric hospitals, Pediatric disabled centers and orphanages.
