Second in 3 part speaker series: THE DRIVERS OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE AND DISCRIMINATION BY THE STATE with Victor Asal, Ph.D. (A fundraiser for Mifgash Jewish Community High School Program).

Join us for three interactive lectures which will deepen your understanding of the subject matter through role-play and live simulations. 

Victor Asal, Ph.D. is a leading researcher of political violence and discrimination against sexual minorities, women, and ethnic groups. Dr. Asal serves the University of Albany as Director of the Center for Policy Research and as a Political Science Professor. He is also co-director of the Project on Violent Conflict and is affiliated with the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism to (START). Prof. Asal teaches courses on world and comparative politics, political violence and oppression, negotiation, and research design.

This Speaker Series is a fundraiser for Mifgash, a Jewish Community High School Program bringing together teens from different Jewish denominations across the Capital District to study and socialize. Through discussion-based classes that apply Jewish values to current topics and holiday events, our students strengthen their connection to Judaism and to each other.
