Please join us virtually for a Yom Ha'Shoah Community-wide Holocaust Commemoration Wednesday evening, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. as we remember those who perished in the Shoah, affirm the heroism of the resisters and honor the survivors who emerged from the darkness of the Holocaust to build new lives and new families, strengthen Jewish communal institutions, and help create the State of Israel.
This year, we will hear from Dan Grunfeld, son of professional basketball player Ernie Grunfeld, as he shares his multi-generational family epic detailing history’s only known journey from Auschwitz to the NBA.
Copies of Grunfeld's book By The Grace of the Game: The Holocaust, A Basketball Legacy, and an Unprecedented American Dream are available for a discounted price of $15 (includes shipping). To purchase, visit: https://jewishfedny.regfox.com/book-purchase.
The commemoration will be aired LIVE on:
