Mazel tov to Rabbi Beverly Magidson, Federation’s Director of Chaplaincy Services and the Religious Coordinator of Daughters of Sarah Senior Community, on receiving The Reverend Caryle Adams Ecumenical and Interfaith Award at The Capital Area Council of Churches 78th Anniversary dinner.
As our Director of Chaplaincy Services for more than 20 years, Rabbi Bev has ensured that our community’s seniors living in nursing or assisted-living facilities stay connected to Judaism. You can read all about our program here.
Rabbi Bev has been very involved in our interfaith community for more than 30 years, leading or working with various committees and speaking at numerous gatherings.
I have the privilege of working with many truly outstanding colleagues, several of whom have received awards in recognition of their good work. Back in 2014, I wrote, “Working every day to make a difference in the world is rewarding, but being recognized by others for that hard work is special. For me, working with them is really exceptional. I hope our community understands how really lucky we are.” These words continue to ring true.
Rosh Hashanah begins this Sunday evening. Everyone should be inscribed and sealed for a sweet, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
