Opportunity

In addition to our own Jewish World newspaper and our local Jewish blog posts, I read a variety of other Jewish papers and blog posts from around the northeast to gain inspiration for potential events and take advantage of opportunities that may be available for our local community. For example, a few weeks ago I read that Gil Hoffman was in from Israel and would be speaking in Connecticut; therefore, we were able to bring him here and speak for us.

Last week, I read in the Berkshire Jewish Voice that Jewish Federation of the Berkshires is hosting a Zoom webinar this Sunday at 6:45 pm with Ambassador Dennis Ross. Ambassador Ross is a well-respected expert on the Middle East and has served under both Democratic and Republican administrations. He will be speaking about the recent parliamentary elections in Israel as well as our own congressional mid-terms.

I immediately called my friend and colleague Dara, executive director of Berkshires’ Federation, who graciously welcomed our community to join hers for this Sunday evening’s program. Please use this link to register.

A special shout-out to our veterans today: Thank you for your service to our country, affording us the privilege of living in this free and democratic Republic, a privilege that we should never take lightly.
